Forty Eight Original Irish Dances
by Hime, Morris

Full title: Forty Eight Original Irish Dances never before printed with Basses for the Piano-Forte & with proper figures for dancing.

Publisher: Dublin: Hume's Musical Circulating Library, College Green

Date: 1795

Notes:

This collection contains only a few Scottish tunes; some have simple basslines but most are more active, and a few have broken chords.

Biographical info: Liverpool music publisher and seller Humphrey Hime began his career c.1790 in partnership with brother Morris (Maurice) - who seems already to have been in business, but moved to Dublin around that time - and later Humphrey's son joined the Liverpool firm. The family firm continued until c.1879. (Humphries & Smith)
