J Murdoch Henderson estimates the publication date of 1775, but two Copac sources estimate 1778.
The GB-A copy lacks its original titlepage, the dedication to The Dutchess of Athole, most of the subscriber list (up to R), and the final two pages.
This book contains a self-consciously highland and 'ancient' repertoire, set down with added simple basses, including pibroch and tunes by Rorie Dall.
