Publisher: Edinburgh: Gow & Shepherd

Date: [1795-180-?]

Notes:

This publication contains:- 'Miss Sitwells Strathspey'; 'Isle of Sky'; 'The Marquis of Huntlys Welcome Home'; 'Miss Mary Douglass'. The first three tunes are all in Gow elsewhere, whilst the fourth tune is in Robert Mackintosh book 4. Miss Sitwell's Strathspey was also published by N. Stewart ca. 1795 (see GB-Lbl), and Gore lists it in Aird's Selection, vol.1. Gow uses single note basslines with some chords in small notes in the third tune, and dyads in the fourth. Dynamic markings and hairpin dynamics appear in the third and fourth tunes.
