Bayne's collections demonstrate in a very few pages that, despite a range of styles being available and employed, strathspeys and reels had a generally accepted form of accompaniment. This publication consists of four tunes, all by Bayne with military dedications. Each tune has a distinct bassline style.

Biographical info: Bayne was a dancing teacher in Dundee, and 'composed' or 'arranged' the tunes he published between c.1802-1819.
