Peacock, Francis
Biographical info
Peacock (1723-1807) was a Dancing Master in Aberdeen for over 60 years. (He was succeeded by Archibald Duff.) As well as the present music book, he was the author of Sketches relative to the history and theory, but more especially to the practice of dancing. (Alburger, 73-75, 90) He taught musician and music publisher James Davie, who is known to have had Peacock's viola.
