Description

Notes

Book 1 opens with 'Mrs Farquaharson of Monaltrie's Delight' by Robert Mackintosh, lacking its last two variations and violin accompaniment: these were probably added later by Mackintosh, as the final variations are very pianistic. There are also several tunes with attributions 'by R Mackintosh.' 'Capt Patrick McKenzie's Strathspey' is given in scordatura. There are many four beat basslines of different types, and also some printed with small notes for piano and large notes for cello.
