Description:
This is a second edition of Thirty New Strathspey Reels, with additional tunes. The titlepage shows clear modifications by Urbani & Liston to the original plate of Thirty New Strathspey Reels.
p1-11 only are from the original book, and the rest probably filled up by Urbani from J Campbell and others to justify the 6/- cover price.
'Entered in Stationers Hall' appears on p.22 (the original end of collection?). There is a note in ink from Henry Farmer on the GB-Gu copy: 'The first thirty are composed by Abraham McIntosh', and '[ca.1800]'.
Notes:
Urbani also issued 'corrected' editions of books by Joshua Campbell and Abraham Johnson. Some of the additional pages have been taken over from Joshua Campbell, with their page numbers altered (e.g. 3 becomes 13, 2 becomes 20), and with some altered basses.
